Questions
Can we use our own 9-box definitions?
Yes. Choose what each axis measures, and rename and recolour every box.
Do we have to drag people into boxes?
No. Everyone is placed automatically from their latest validated ratings. Anyone without data is listed as not placed, with the reason.
How can I control who sees what?
Managers only see the people in their reporting line, and admins decide what everyone else sees. Make a role, its team or its whole branch private, so sensitive people stay hidden even from other admins, and choose who can see each profile detail.
Do self and peer ratings show in these views?
No. Every view uses each person's validated rating, from the manager who completed their review. Other perspectives are compared separately.
Do we have to build our org chart from scratch?
No. Send us a spreadsheet of your people and roles, and your HR professional sets it up with you.
Can we export what we see?
Yes. Export tables to Excel, print reports to PDF and download any map as an image.
What if I just want a simple 9-box grid?
No problem. Useful is as simple or as detailed as you make it. If you want to build your grid based on two criteria alone, that's completely fine. Useful lets you gather and measure exactly what you need; no more, no less.
